I am honored by this mandate and I thank my predecessor, Matteo Lunelli, for the excellent work done in these years. I take on this role alongside a team of entrepreneurs and CEOs who are true ambassadors of our lifestyle in the world,” declared Giovanna Vitelli, President of Altagamma. “Together we will work to give greater visibility to the impact of our Companies on the Country, both from an economic, social, and cultural perspective. We will also commit to the protection of craftsmanship, a true cross-cutting theme for the continuity of Made in Italy.

The high-end sector deserves to be recognized as the locomotive of our Country. The first evidence from a study we are conducting with SDA Bocconi shows that, compared to the average of Italian companies, our companies contribute 3 times more to GDP growth, hire 5 times as much, and pay taxes that are on average 300 times higher.

Amid geopolitical tensions, international conflicts, and the threat of tariffs, the global luxury market is entering a new, highly delicate, and constantly changing phase. According to data from the Altagamma-Bain Worldwide Luxury Market Monitor 2025, the Personal Luxury Goods sector has interrupted a decade-long growth cycle (excluding the pandemic period), recording a 2% decline. In contrast, experience-based luxury continues to drive the sector, showing solid performance: +3% for hospitality, +5% for fine dining, and +9% for yachts and private jets.
