Zeelander Yachts delivers the Zeelander 8
Zeelander Yachts has delivered the latest creation from the family-run shipyard in Groot-Ammers, the Zeelander 8, the most powerful built to date. Its world debut is scheduled for the Monaco Yacht Show, from September 23 to 26, 2026.

Equipped with four Volvo Penta IPS-1350 engines totaling 4,000 HP, it reached 40 knots during sea trials, a true record for this model; however, speed is just one of the features of this new Zeelander. At full throttle, the internal noise levels are only 65 dBA – quieter than a normal conversation – making the Zeelander 8 the quietest vessel in its category.

“Built entirely to order in the Netherlands, this new yacht is the result of what happens when an owner fully understands the essence of a Zeelander,” said Sietse Koopmans, Founder and President of Zeelander Yachts. “He approached us after having spent entire weeks aboard a Zeelander 7, working and resting on the vessel. He knew exactly what he wanted more. The result is deeply personal and, in our opinion, one of the best Zeelander 8s we have ever built.”

“For owners who spend their working life surrounded by people, a crewless yacht is not a compromise. That’s precisely the point,” adds Koopmans. “No schedule to coordinate, no staff to manage, no professional distance to maintain. Just the water and the freedom to be completely off duty. The Zeelander 8 makes all this possible without asking anything in return: low-maintenance materials, Volvo IPS propulsion, and systems designed for maximum simplicity ensure that the yacht sails quietly, in every sense“
Zeelander Yachts autonomy and spaces
The entire design of the new hull was driven by the experience aboard the Zeelander 7, where the owner sailed alone, in total privacy and without crew, and wanted to replicate this immersive experience on a larger hull.

The new yacht is equipped for an active life at sea, with a Williams 435 jet tender housed in the side garage along with a Seabob and flyboard. Gyroscopic stabilization and a joystick mooring system make the yacht extremely easy to handle for an owner sailing without a fixed crew, although the presence of additional berths allows for accommodating crew on board should weather conditions or company require it.
The Zeelander 8 has always been designed to tackle the open sea as well as sheltered bays. With a hull designed to convey safety even in the most challenging conditions, this latest unit covers 630 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 32 knots, ensuring a comfortable arrival; notably, at a speed of 7 knots, the range extends up to 2,700 nautical miles.
