SIMENA, the 62-meter sailing superyacht
SIMENA under full sail off Saint-Tropez, making between 8.5 and 9.5 knots in winds ranging from 13 to 16 knots. ARES Yachts has released the first official sailing photographs of its 62-metre flagship ketch, captured off Saint-Tropez during her inaugural Mediterranean season.
Simena: Sustainability and Range
The 62-meter ketch has already logged approximately 3,250 nautical miles across the Mediterranean during her first season and continues her journey, with potential stops in Portofino and northern Sardinia, during the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup, scheduled from September 6-12, before heading to the Monaco Yacht Show where she is expected to be one of the largest sailing yachts on display.
Throughout her maiden Mediterranean season, SIMENA has called at Monaco, Genoa, Palma de Mallorca, Saint-Tropez and Imperia. She completed a non-stop 1,200-nautical-mile passage from Fethiye to Monaco, an offshore crossing of approximately 400 nautical miles between the Strait of Messina and Cap Corse, and another open-sea leg of around 380 nautical miles between Kythira and the Strait of Messina.
The yacht offers quiet electric cruising (powered by onboard generators) at around 8 knots, with an estimated range of approximately 6,000 nautical miles. Powered by her MAN diesel engine, SIMENA reaches a top speed of 14 knots and has an operational range of 4,000 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 11 knots.
With exterior styling and naval architecture by Istanbul-based Taka Yacht Design and interiors by Design Unlimited, SIMENA ranks among the world’s 25 longest sailing superyachts. She has already earned a four-star (“Superior”) SEA Index rating, developed by the Yacht Club de Monaco and UBS Group and independently verified by Lloyd’s Register, as well as receiving two nominations for the La Belle Classe Superyachts Explore Awards.
SIMENA combines a classic soul with teak and polished mahogany decks to a contemporary design with refined furnishings, including marble in the guest bathrooms. Below deck, there is a spacious owner’s suite at the bow and five guest cabins, while the cockpit offers a dining area capable of accommodating up to 14 people. With naval architecture and external design crafted by the Taka Yacht Design studio in Istanbul and interiors designed by Design Unlimited, SIMENA ranks among the 25 longest superyacht sailing vessels in the world.
